I'm a writer and artist, open-minded, free-spirited, live and let live kind of person. I am descended from noble Scandinavians and Acadians, with Mi'kmaq, Italian, Irish, Spanish, and German blood mixed in between. I was raised Roman Catholic but left the church to develop my true spirituality. I found my place for a while among Asatru kin, but I refuse to ever again imprison my soul onto one path.  I am fond of Freyja as well as Anubis.

I am a very passionate child abuse awareness and prevention volunteer and children's rights activist. Two of my heroes are Andrew Vachss and Bob Kane, creator of Batman, for their endless work in child protection and child abuse awareness, along with all others in this fight

My two other heroes are Nikola Tesla for his dream of giving the world what he received to share rather than profit from it, and Giordano Bruno for refusing to hide his knowledge of the cosmos until he was burned to death for standing up for intelligence and wisdom.

My final hero is my daughter, who is my constant inspiration to venture out past my comfort zone to accomplish better and greater things.

ART and WRITING:

My art many times comes from characters I envision in my writing but can be from anything. I have an eclectic taste in all things, and that taste is reflected in the many areas of my artistic talents. I believe in trying every artistic venue once. Many times, I find it isn't my forte. Many times, I find it's another hidden skill. One of my greatest artistic endeavors so far has been teaching art to children.

I have written poetry, sagas, historical and sci-fi fiction, romance, and mystery novels. I have been a writer since I could spell. My imagination seems endless and I find inspiration in everything. Much of my inspiration comes from my own dreams, which are like stories that unfold with either me as the main character or me as a viewer as if the dream were a movie. When I wake up, I write down all I have seen to become a scene, a plot, or even a whole book in some cases. I have a book case full of notebooks and files of such dreams and day dreams waiting for me to finish.

Self-discovery is the most fascinating of all adventures, and writing and art are the best ways, I find, for one to achieve that.  Whether I succeed or fall short of what I've hoped to accomplish, I try never to fail in my journey to connect with who I am inside. To me, that is the most wonderful thing about the arts -- the ability to reach inside ourselves and connect with our inner essence and our true identities.
